The post man was good to me today. At long last the Knight Models 30mm Star Wars miniatures are here from Spain!
It looks like I might be one of the first sites to be able to really cover these in-depth, and I didn't want say anything about them until I had them in-hand, just in case. This was the big surprise feature I had in mind about a week ago.
I'm impressed. Up until now, if you wanted metal SW minis, you were pretty much out of luck, unless you could find the old ones, which I believe were made by West End Games from '89-'99. Those old ones look really bad in comparison, the level of detail on these far surpasses any of the old ones. These are really amazing. Watch for an in-depth review of these next week if all goes as planned.
Pictured are Akanin and Obi Wan from the prequels, Luke Skywalker from Return of the Jedi, and Han Solo, which appears to be from A New Hope. Han Solo looks just like Harrison Ford too, it's amazing.
Knight Models also makes a 70mm range of fully licensed Star Wars miniatures too, including Stormtroopers, Darth Maul, and a really nice Obi-Wan vs Anakin set just to name a few. In addition to Star Wars they also offer a licensed Marvel Comics line of 70mm figures. None of these are cheap, because these are fully licensed products, but they do appear to be made amazingly well, and worth the cost of admission. For more on the 30mm Star Wars range, keep an eye on WarGameGuru throughout next week.
For now enjoy the photos I've provided of them in the packaging.
