Stuff is trickling in. Avatars of War and Micro-Art Studio products are in-da-house.
I also ended up with the rulebook for a new skirmish game called Faction Wars that I'll be reviewing soon as well. I browsed thro the book briefly last night, and it looks interesting.
I'm just finishing up painting some models from Quantum Gothic, and wow, these are really nice. The In Focus review, along with an in-depth interview should go live late tonight, or first thing in the morning.
I'm also planning a lot more brush coverage. I've seriously considering trying to put together an informational piece on the topic of the various hair/bristle fibers used in the creation of the different types of brushes out there for painting miniatures. The problem is, it's really hard to nail down definitive answers about Kolinsky, Sable and Red Sable in particular.
I've done some research, and every company seams to have a different answer about the differences between the three. Some claim to make Kolinsky Sable brushes, which technically isn't possible. The Kolinsky is a different breed of weasel, and in fact the Kolinsky and Sable are two different animals altogether. Then there are the companies who make Red Sable brushes, or Kolinsky Red Sable brushes. Confused yet? So am I. lol
I just know the brushes that use the highest quality Kolinsky hair fibers, are the best brushes out there for miniature painting. Most quality sable brushes are a close 2nd, and everything else falls into place after that. Synthetics never really impressed me either, but there are a few better synthetics out there these days, some of which can be useful, and I'll be covering those very soon as well.
I also started to include PC game/combat-simulation/wargame reviews today. I've always considered them wargames just the same, and combat flight simulations in general is where I got started in the PC games/hardware industry almost 2 decades ago now. So it's nice to revisit that industry. With some great titles on the horizon like StarCraft II, and it seams like the combat simulation industry might be re-igniting as well... now couldn't be a better time to start covering those products again.
