It's been a lot of fun so far. The past few days worth of articles have been the most popular yet, and I've had a lot of good feedback. Thank you all for your comments thus far, and feel free to keep them coming. I am listening, and I try to personally reply to every one.
In the coming weeks I have the following products confirmed incoming, which I plan to cover...
Eden from Taban Miniatures, a variety of miniatures from Kabuki Models, the latest from SodaPop Miniatures, the amazing sci-fi models from MERC, and some of the latest 28mm sci-fi models from PigIron.
Tentatively we may have some Army Painter, WarGamma, Avatars of War, Micro-Art Studio, and War Torn Worlds coverage as well, just to name a few.
I'm adding to that list as I go too. That is as companies respond. Quite a few have been reluctant to offer assistance, so if there are some major titles I'm not covering, it's not because I didn't want to, it's only because some companies just refuse to assist in the review process.
The sad truth is, and it's always been this way... too many people create a website to attempt to get free stuff, and then never turn around with reviews or coverage. So when legitimate people like myself look to get review support, they are either out of review samples, or refuse altogether, because the scam artists have been there first.
I have almost two decades' worth of experience reviewing products, and have never asked for anything that I couldn't backup with coverage. That's just a given. Even with my credentials, some companies are just still impossible to work with.
It's sad, and the most frustrating part of my job, because there are two major games I had on my list of MUST cover games before I started WarGameGuru, both of which I won't be able to cover due to reluctant company representatives.
The way I always looked at this is... I have a lot more time for other products, and eventually when these companies see how in-depth the coverage is that their competition is getting, they'll eventually be asking me to cover their products. So it's only a matter of time.
